After the announcement of CAT 2012 result, admission season 2013 on for MBA aspirants, the Indian Institute of Management-Udaipur (IIM-U) has already released its revised admission criteria on 11th January 2013. This year, the institute is hoping to get students with median percentile score of 98 and above.

The IIM-U will give 50% weightage to CAT score, 30% is for personal interview and 20% for students' profile including academic qualification, work experience and diversity. To maintain gender balance and non-engineers, the institute is giving extra points to girl candidates and those from non-engineering backgrounds.

The batch size is likely to be around 120. The admission process of IIM-U consists of: CAT examination, short listing for personal appearance (PA) process, conducting the PA process (PA process is composed of written analysis (WA) and personal interview (PI).
Last year, 99.5 percentile was the highest score for the institute. IIM-U will upload the interview schedule on its website in a week. So far, 85% students here are from engineering background, and the rest are from arts and commerce.
The PA process will be common to all the six new IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Raipur, IIM Tiruchirappalli, IIM Udaipur, and IIM Kashipur. These new IIMs have decided to adopt a common process of WA and PI to be coordinated this year by IIM Raipur.

In case any of the older IIMs (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode and Lucknow) are willing to share their written analysis (WA) and personal interview (PI) score with the six new IIMs, the common candidates who have applied to new IIMs, need not appear for WA&PI process separately.

The institute is also planning to highlight the industrial training response received by its students in India and abroad.
