A total of 172 management schools other than the IIMs have subscribed to the Common Admission Test (CAT) scores this year. In 2011, the number stood close to 130.
A total of 2.14 lakh aspirants have registered for the 21-day long computer-based CAT 2012 that will commence from 11October 2012. CAT 2012 is being coordinated by IIM-Kozhikode.
The IIMs have declared the list of non-IIM B-schools that would be accepting CAT 2012 scores for admissions for the year 2013-15. The number of non-IIM B-schools that have started accepting CAT scores has gradually been increasing especially with developments in 2011 like FMS, Delhi scrapping its exam and opting for CAT scores instead and even the management schools of the six IITs opting for CAT instead of JMET.
Some of the national institutes that will accept CAT 2012 scores are:

National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli
Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal
National Institute of Technology, Calicut
National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal
School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad
National Universities which have their departments of management studies are also accepting CAT 2012 scores. Some of them are:
